
The Tri-Cities has become a leading destination known for its year-round recreation, abundant sunshine, inviting rivers, internationally acclaimed wineries, abundant farm-to-table markets, low-cost renewable energy, and family-friendly environment. Over the past few decades, a concerted effort has been made to transition the area from an economy dependent on federal funding, to a diversified, scientific community focused on research, education, high-tech farming and food processing, wine and culinary science, tourism and recreation, small-business entrepreneurship, and craft manufacturing. Indeed, the Port of Kennewick’s collaborative approach to neighborhood revitalization is fostering new jobs and business development within Kennewick’s Historic Waterfront District and transforming Vista Field into an urban town center for the region.
